24th March 2026 - WoSOA Cases and Controversies 2026
Our annual Cases and Controversies evening meeting was held on Tuesday 24th March 2026. An trio of interesting cases from across the region presented by Dr Aitken, Dr Jolliffe and Dr Thomas. Congratulations to Samantha Jolliffe who won first prize for her presentation on a case of post delivery necrotising fasciitis.

Annual WoSOA GOGS joint meeting 2026, this year held by WoSOA.
We were delighted to welcome Dr Yavor Metodiev, Consultant anaesthetist, Cardiff and Vale UHB and OAA Treasurer elect, discussing 'The Management of the Pregnant Patient with Chiari Malformation'.

31st October 2025 - WoSOA 25th Anniversary Joint Meeting with Northern Ireland Obstetric Anaesthetic Network (NIOAN)
Thanks to all that joined us in celebrating 25 years of WoSOA at RCPSG in Glasgow. To mark the milestone we joined forces with NIOAN for a special study day of education, entertainment and after meeting drinks. A fantastic day had by all, excellent speakers, special guests including OAA President, Dr Nuala Lucas, and the Managing Director of Glasgow Warriors, Mr Alastair Kellock. We were thrilled to see the return of the WoSOA soapbox and enjoy an overwhelming number of resident doctor posters and presentations.

In person event held at the RCPSG in Glasgow, with food from 6pm and the evenings talk at 7pm from Dr Stephen Hearns discussing 'High risk decision making in pressurised environments'.
