ADVANCED OBSTETRIC ANAESTHESIA TRAINING (AOAT)
The Advanced Obstetric Anaesthesia Training (AOAT) module is aimed at trainees planning for a career as a Consultant Anaesthetist with an Obstetric interest. The AOAT is based in the GRI, QEUH and RAH with opportunities to organise placements at University Hospital Crosshouse, University Hospital Wishaw and further afield. In addition to advanced clinical skills, the module will focus on all areas including research, teaching and management in Obstetric Anaesthesia.
The post is open to all West of Scotland Anaesthetic trainees. Applicants should be at ST5 or a higher stage at time of application and should be in ST6 or beyond when commencing the post. Appointment is subject to approval of the WoSSA training committee. Trainees should inform the Training Programme Director and their College Tutor of their intention to apply for the post wherever possible well in advance. The duration of the post is six months. Four six months posts are available through the year commencing in February and August.
Posts are advertised every year. Completed forms are due in by 5pm on Friday 5th January 2024, with appointment process scheduled for January. An interview may be required and for the next round of applications, the interview date is Wednesday 17th January 2024.
